Porth y Swnt was opened in the spring of 2014 as an interpretation centre for the far end of Llŷn. It’s owned by the National Trust, as is Henfaes next door, which has been adapted as holiday flats.
The Trust now owns much the land on the coast around here, and protects it from development not appropriate for the area.
In Porth y Swnt, innovative interpretation methods are used to bring to life the unique and special characteristics of this part of Llŷn. You can sample the area’s history, culture and wildlife before venturing along the paths and roads of Llŷn to discover the treasures hidden on the hilltops (considered mountains by the people of Llŷn!) along the cliff tops and inlets in the rocks, as well as in ancient churches and wells.
Usual opening hours are 10.00-4.00
